¡Bucho! To Host Father’s Day Brunch During Kitchen Takeover at SoHill Café

¡Bucho! will hosts its first Brunch Kitchen Takeover on Sunday, June 16 at SoHill Café, 1719 Blanco Road, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until sell out.

THE MENU

The menu will feature classic brunch items with a San Antonio twist, including Jalapeño Cornbread Brisket Benedict, Corn Masa Pancakes and ¡Bucho! French Toast with a mezcal vanilla orange anglaise.

¡Bucho! Concept

¡Bucho! “Tejano Street Fare” is the first concept created by Durden Food Group in winter 2018 to highlight and celebrate Tejano flavors and Latino pop culture in San Antonio. The Durden Food Group is a culinary crew created by four friends with the common idea and dream to create unique and exciting concepts for like-minded, culinary driven individuals in San Antonio.

The Durden Food Group is comprised of veterans in the service industry, including:

Gino Vidal has over 20 years of experience in the food industry, shaping and molding his craft. With the knowledge and experience he has obtained, Vidal is ready to take on the next step of his culinary career. Vidal is the director and coordinator of the pop up ¡Bucho!

 

Jerry Moreno will take the reins of head chef for the pop up ¡Bucho! With only five years of experience, Moreno has worked at some of San Antonio’s elite restaurants and alongside the city’s most respected chefs. Moreno’s contribution to the creation of ¡Bucho! has been focused on conceptualizing the menus both previously served at El Luchador Bar and now the ¡Bucho! Brunch Menu for Father’s Day brunch at SoHill Cafe.

 

Daniel Orta, a native San Antonian, has 20 years of restaurant experience in fine and casual dining establishments. Orta has trained in classic French, Japanese, Italian and Modern American cooking. His knowledge acquired from working with the best chefs San Antonio and his culinary knowledge has made him one of ¡Bucho!’s most valued consultants for culinary advice and direction.

 

Sohayla Hendrix is a long-term front of the house specialist and serves as the manager and marketing director, focusing on creating a fun and enjoyable experience for every guest. Her attention to detail and professionalism make her the perfect person to be the backbone of this operation.
